SquidHub v0.25.0
This round is all about your messages and how you show up.
You can edit a message after you send it, give yourself a profile picture that follows you into every room, and tweak a squid from a quick settings panel instead of walking the whole setup wizard again.
A handful of smaller niceties came along too: a heads-up when another workspace has unread, mentions that finish themselves mid-sentence, and a notification bell that finally clears once you have read the mention.
New
- You can edit your own messages now. Hover a message (or long-press it on your phone), choose edit, fix it up, and save. Edited messages show a small "edited" note so it is clear they changed.
- You can set a profile picture now. Head to your profile, upload a photo, and it shows up next to your name in every room, the member list, and the sidebar. Don't like it? Remove it anytime and you're back to your colored initial.
- Editing a squid is much faster now. Open any squid you own and you get a simple settings panel with tabs: jump straight to the thing you want to change, like its name, personality, or model, tweak it, and save. No more clicking through the whole setup wizard just to change one detail.
- Connecting a tool like GitHub or Stripe is quicker now. The connect screen has a button that takes you straight to the page where you create the token, so you do not have to dig through settings to find it.
- See at a glance when another workspace needs you. The workspace switcher now shows a count when one of your other workspaces has unread messages, so you do not have to open it to check.
- You can now choose whether browser notifications show a preview of the message or just say a new message arrived. The setting lives under your profile's notifications, once browser notifications are on.
Removed
- The room header no longer shows a "Live · N in room" label. It only counted members, not who was actually online, so it read as more than it meant.
Fixed
- A person's avatar now sits right next to their name at the top of a long message, instead of floating down to the middle.
- Typing an @mention in the middle of a message now works. The suggestions used to appear only when the @name was at the very end of what you'd typed; now they show up wherever your cursor is.
- The notification bell now clears once you have read a message you were mentioned in. It used to stay lit even after you had opened the room and seen the mention.
