SquidHub v0.19.0
The workspace switcher finally tells you where life is happening: every workspace shows its icon, and a little counter says how many messages wait inside.
Rooms got more honest, too - no more false "Reconnecting…" on the way in, the empty room greets you dead-centre, and loading screens keep their shape instead of jumping around.
And joining by invite from a phone works the way it always should have.
New
- The workspace switcher shows you where things are happening - every workspace now has its icon next to the name (like on desktop), and a little counter shows how many unread messages are waiting in each one (9+ when it piles up).
- Notifications grew a real history - what needs you now (unread rooms, requests) stays pinned at the top, and below it an endless feed of everything that happened: mentions, joins, approvals. Tap something and it quietly dims instead of disappearing, Slack-style.
- Mentions land in your notifications - when someone @-mentions you, it now shows up in the bell's history, not just as a buzz.
- Back means back - on your phone, leaving a notification into a room and pressing Back returns you to notifications; on desktop the panel simply stays open while you click through.
Fixed
- An empty room invites you in properly now - "No messages yet / Start the conversation now" sits exactly in the middle of the chat, and stays put even when a "Reconnecting…" banner appears.
- Loading screens stopped playing hide-and-seek - placeholders are actually visible on the dark theme now, People opens straight into its real layout (no more "Loading…" flash), and the placeholder list matches the size of what loads.
- Opening a room no longer cries wolf - the "Reconnecting…" warning (and the compose box's "reconnecting…" hint) only shows when a live connection actually drops, not on every normal entry.
- Connectors keeps its search box while loading, and the Available/Installed switch lost a smudgy shadow that could look like a rendering glitch.
- Joining by invite works on your phone now - the invite screen is a proper full-screen page (no more sideways scrolling), and the "Sign up & join" button no longer stays stuck: a security setting on our side was silently blocking the human-check it waits for. If you already have an account, there's now a clear "Log in & join" button instead of a tiny link.
- Cleaned up the blog: tighter endings, real sources behind the claims, and a wrong line about pricing tiers on the developers page
- Tidied punctuation across the site and app copy
